Amazon driver’s 524 packages, 300 stops, 421 locations video goes viral, sparks debate around workload, burnout in gig economy
An Amazon delivery driver's video showcasing a massive workload has gone viral. The clip reveals over 300 stops and 500 packages in a single shift. This has ignited discussions online about the pressures faced by gig economy workers. Many are ques...

In the clip, the driver shows her route details, which include 300 stops, 524 packages and 421 delivery locations. She then pans to the back of her vehicle, where every shelf is stuffed, boxes are stacked to the roof and there is barely any space to move.
The video later circulated on X, where it drew widespread attention. A user who shared the clip described the workload as a standard route rather than an exception, noting that it was not during peak season.

However, in an official statement Amazon has called the statement misleading. “This video is misleading and lacks important context. The delivery route shown was designed for and completed by two people, a driver and a helper. Like the vast majority of delivery routes, it was finished on time and without incident. All delivery routes are built to include at least an hour of breaks,” Amazon spokesperson said.
Online debate over efficiency and burnout
The post raised questions about whether such workloads reflect operational efficiency or indicate potential burnout. While some users viewed the demands as part of the job, others questioned how a driver could reasonably complete the assigned deliveries within a single shift.“Don't believe what you seeing the route are capped at 21 stop/hr (not counting groups stops/multi stops). Routes are planned at 9hours way feasible and they are not over working drivers. Amazon is using a machine learning based on previous driver behavior to plan max 9hrs routes (sic)”
“If all drivers literally said enough and just stop, your wages would increase the number of people working will increase and youll be happier.. they are testing how much they can push a person”
“Dude they’re all local Close drop off’s. It will take me no more than 5-6 hours to complete all. What is she moaning about. Better of they these type of people out of work and bring robots or people who can only complete in 6 hours.”
“Lmaoooo I worked at Amazon for one day and was like ‘yeah, this ain’t worth what they paying’”
