Alvida Jumma Kab Hai 2026 Date
Ramadan is a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection for Muslims, but Fridays during this holy period carry special importance. The last Friday of Ramadan is known as Alvida Jumma or Jumat-ul-Vida, a day when mosques across the country see large gatherings of worshippers offering special prayers. Islamic scholars say that in 2026, the prayer for Alvida Jumma is likely to be held on March 13, which falls on the 23rd day of fasting. However, depending on the sighting of the moon, some communities may also observe it on March 20.

Alvida Jumma 2026 date

Alvida Jumma is observed on the final Friday of Ramadan. According to Islamic religious scholars, the prayer for Alvida Jumma in 2026 will most likely be offered on March 13, which coincides with the 23rd roza (fast) of the month.

However, scholars say the situation could change if Eid does not fall as expected. In that case, the following Friday, March 20, may also see Jumat-ul-Vida prayers being offered again.

Why there is confusion about Alvida Jumma date

The uncertainty exists because the length of Ramadan depends on the sighting of the new moon. The holy month can last either 29 or 30 days.

If the Shawwal moon is sighted on March 19, Ramadan will end after 29 days. In that scenario, March 13 will remain the last Friday of Ramadan, making it Alvida Jumma.

But if the moon is not sighted on March 19, Ramadan will complete 30 days. That would push the last Friday of the month to March 20, meaning Alvida Jumma prayers may again be offered on that day before Eid is celebrated on Saturday.

Because of this possibility, many fasting Muslims will offer Jumat-ul-Vida prayers on March 13, and if the month stretches to 30 days, they may observe the special Friday prayers again on March 20.

Why Alvida Jumma matters during Ramadan

The final Friday of Ramadan holds deep spiritual significance in Islam. Alvida Jumma symbolises the farewell to the holy month, reminding believers that Ramadan may be ending but the spirit of discipline, charity, and prayer should continue throughout the year.
