Allu Arvind's Ramayan may have Ranbir Kapoor as Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Here are details

The film based on Ramayan was first announced in 2019 by producer Allu Arvind with directors Nitesh Tiwari and Ravi Udyawar onboarded for the big-budget project. Three years after the announcement, rumors of the film's star cast are doing the rounds on social platforms.

According to a few media reports, actress Sai Pallavi can make her Bollywood debut with a role of Sita in the mythological movie based on Ramayan. However, there are no confirmations about the other star cast in the film.

The film project has been on paper for the past 4-5 years. The audience has been curious about the movie since its first announcement. According to early reports, actors Hrithik Roshan, Prabhas, and Ram Charan were approached for this epic mythological-tale-based film. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor is reportedly the current choice for the role.


For the role of Sita, filmmakers initially approached the Padmavat-star Deepika Padukone, but nothing can be confirmed until the movie goes onto the floors.

As per media reports, the mythological film Ramayan is likely to go on floors in 2023. Producer Allu Aravind tweeted that Ramayan is ON and under the pre-production phase for the last eighteen months and will likely go on floors in Summer 2023. The film is expected to be one of the mammoth and most expensive projects of Indian Cinema.

On the work front, actress Sai Pallavi last played the lead in Gargi, a Gautham Ramachandran-directed film.
