Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’ to release on OTT instead of theatre, say reports
'OMG 2' by Akshay Kumar will be released soon. According to reports, the makers will opt for an OTT release rather than a theatrical one.

According to rumours, the makers of OMG 2 are planning a direct-to-digital release on either the Voot or Jio Cinema platforms. There has been no official confirmation of this. Amit Rai directs the film, which is produced by Vipul D Shah, Rajesh Bahl, and Ashwin Varde. Meanwhile, the first sequel, which starred Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, was released in 2012.
The film's OTT release is trending on social media, with many fans arguing that it should only be released in theatres. Fans are even prepared to purchase an OTT subscription in order to watch the film.
The first film, OMG, was well received by audiences, and it became one of the most commercially successful films of 2012. It centred on Kanji Lalji Mehta, an atheist who owns a shop selling Hindu idols and antiques. After his shop is destroyed by an earthquake, he sues God because he cannot obtain insurance.
According to reports, Akshay Kumar will work with Dinesh Vijan on the film 'Sky Force,' in which he will play an Indian Air Force officer.
Looking at Akshay's track record, three of his last ten films, Laxmii, Atrangi Re, and Cutputli, were released on OTT platforms. Sooryavanshi, the other seven films that were released in theatres, proved to be box office successes, while ‘Selfiee’, ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, ‘Bachchhan Pandey’, ‘Ram Setu’, ‘Bell Bottom’, and ‘Raksha Bandhan’ underperformed.
