Before it is released, the Delhi High Court issues a piracy shield for Akshay Kumar's movie "Ram Setu."

The highly awaited Akshay Kumar movie "Ram Setu" has received wonderful news ahead of its grand release. 23 "rogue websites" have been prohibited by the Delhi High Court from disseminating, hosting, streaming, retransmitting, displaying, and downloading the future film because piracy must be stopped and dealt with harshly, according to the court.

Through attorney Shyel Trehan, the producer filed a motion with the court asking for an injunction "against 23 rogue websites."

According to a ruling from October 18 by Justice Jyoti Singh, the producer and the screenwriter of the film had established a presumptive case for the granting of ex parte ad-interim relief due to the significant financial commitments made by the producers.

23 video-sharing websites that are known to provide users with download links for movies and web series were mentioned by the producer.

The court said it presumptively concurs with the plaintiff that it would substantially injure the plaintiff's interests, both financially and legally, if the malicious websites disseminate the movie in any way, on any platform, concurrently with its theatrical debut on October 25 or immediately afterward. The Court said it points to the plaintiff's investments in the film's production and marketing as well as the exclusive right granted to it by the Act's provisions.

The producer filed a motion with the court through attorney Shyel Trehan asking for an injunction against 23 malicious websites that, according to the producer, are vehicles for infringement whose entire business model is built to give the general public unauthorised access to intellectual content.

According to the complaint, it is standard practise for films to initially be released for theatrical presentation before being made available for watching on various platforms. However, the complaint alleges that the websites make unauthorised copies of the film and make them available to the public for watching, downloading, and transmission almost simultaneously with the film's release in theatres.

Abhishek Sharma is the director of the action-adventure movie, which also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushratt Bharuccha, and Satya Dev. It centres on an archaeologist who is examining Ram Setu, also called Adam's Bridge in English.
