The Indian business magnate, Mukesh Ambani, announced his resignation from Reliance Jio’s Board on 28th June 2022. Following his resignation, Mukesh passed on the baton of his thriving telecom business to his son Akash Ambani. As Akash Ambani starts his new journey as the chairman of the Board of Directors of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, here’s a look at five interesting facts about him.

Akash Ambani is the eldest son of Mukesh Ambani. Isha Ambani is the twin-sister of Akash, and they have a younger brother Anant Ambani. Akash Ambani was born on 23rd October 1991.

Education

Akash Ambani completed his schooling at Dhirubhai Ambani International School. After that, he went to Brown University, majoring in Economics.

Personal life
In 2019, Akash Ambani married his childhood sweetheart Shloka Mehta. Shloka is Russell and Mona Mehta’s daughter, who are Indian diamantaires. In December 2020, the couple was blessed with a baby boy named Prithvi.

Contributions to Reliance Group
After completing his education, Akash Ambani has been working on Reliance Group’s digital policy. The company stated that Akash’s contributions had helped it in the expansion of its digital services business.

Contributions to Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited
Akash Ambani has been associated with Reliance Jio for the last few years. He was also involved with the team that took care of the development and launch of the Jio Phone in 2017. Moreover, over the previous few years, Akash Ambani has also led major acquisitions that has helped Reliance Jio to carve its niche in the digital space.
