Ajay Devgn’s Thank God struggles against Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu at box office
Both Ajay Devgn’s Thank God and Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu were released on October 25.

As per media reports, Thank God struggled from get-go, though the movie had a decent collection in the post-pandemic world. However, Ram Setu performed much better. Thank God managed to collect about Rs 8.10 crores on the opening day, while Ram Setu earned roughly Rs 15.25 crores. The Day 2 performance of the Ajay Devgn starrer dropped to Rs 6 crores, which took its tally to around Rs 14 crore. On the other hand, Ram Setu also witnessed a drop, collecting about Rs 11 crores on Day 2.
Thank God features Ajay Devgn, Siddharth Malhotra, and Rakul Preet Singh. With the first weekend coming up, box office pundits expect the movie to achieve respectable figures in the first week.
The movie was caught in a controversy after a petition was filed against Thank God makers for allegedly objectionable remarks against the Hindu deity Chitragupta, Ajay Devgn’s character in the film. Following the petition, modifications were made accordingly. “Chitragupta” became CG, and “Yamdoot” became YD. A liquor brand was blurred in one frame, while a shot angle of a temple scene was also changed. The makers also had to modify the disclaimer’s content.
