The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the admit cards for the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) for Classes 6 and 9. The entrance test is scheduled to be conducted on January 18 across the country.

Candidates who have registered for the exam can download their admit cards from the official website of the Sainik Schools Society at exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society.

City Intimation Slip Issued Earlier

The agency had already issued the exam city intimation slips on January 6, allowing candidates to check the city where their examination centre is located.


For comparison, in 2025, the AISSEE was held on April 5, with admit cards released on March 26.

Exam Mode and Centres


AISSEE 2026 will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode using OMR answer sheets. The examination will be held across 190 cities in India.

Class 6 Exam Pattern

For Class 6 admissions, the exam duration will be 150 minutes and will be conducted in 13 languages, including English and Hindi.

The paper will consist of 125 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 300 marks, divided as follows:
  • Language: 25 questions (50 marks)
  • Mathematics: 50 questions (150 marks)
  • Intelligence: 25 questions (50 marks)
  • General Knowledge: 25 questions (50 marks)

Class 9 Exam Pattern

The Class 9 examination will be conducted only in English and will last 180 minutes.

It will include 150 multiple-choice questions for a total of 400 marks, with the following subject-wise distribution:
  • Mathematics: 50 questions (200 marks)
  • English: 25 questions (50 marks)
  • Intelligence: 25 questions (50 marks)
  • General Science: 25 questions (50 marks)
  • Social Science: 25 questions (50 marks)

Minimum Qualifying Marks

To qualify for admission to Sainik Schools, candidates must score at least 25 per cent marks in each section and achieve a minimum overall score of 40 per cent.

However, this qualifying criterion does not apply to candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories, who are exempted from the minimum score requirement.

Result Timeline

The results for AISSEE 2026 are expected to be declared four to six weeks after the examination. Updates regarding result dates, exam cities, and other important announcements will be published on the official NTA websites:

Candidates can download their admit cards by following these steps:
Step 1: Visit exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society
Step 2: Click on the “AISSEE Admit Card 2026” link on the homepage
Step 3: Enter the application form number and password generated during registration
Step 4: Verify all details displayed on the admit card
Step 5: Click on Submit to download the admit card
