The 'Ramayana' has long been a cornerstone of Indian mythology. But what if it’s being reimagined through Artificial Intelligence? Yes, that’s right! Mumbai-based Cinefai Studios recently unveiled the trailer for their newest venture, ‘Ramayana’ — an episodic series entirely created using advanced AI technology.

Film critic Taran Adarsh shared the trailer on X, also noting that the first episode is already available. The trailer presents a visually captivating retelling of the legendary story of Ram and Sita, using next-gen visual techniques. Viewers can watch it on the studio’s official Instagram and YouTube channels.

The trailer has sparked a wave of reactions on social media. One user wrote, "This is really mesmerising (sic)." Another commented, "AI influence is going to be epic in coming times (sic)," while a third said, "Next level VFX (sic)."

The creators have utilized AI tools to craft realistic visuals and detailed character designs, achieving a high-quality look with fewer resources than traditional methods. However, it remains to be seen whether this tech-driven adaptation can retain the emotional and cultural depth of Valmiki’s original epic centered on Rama, Sita, and Hanuman.

At the same time, Bollywood is preparing a massive cinematic version of the ‘Ramayana’, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. This big-budget film, split into two parts, is being produced with a staggering budget of over ₹4,000 crore. It will reportedly use extensive VFX and incorporate AI-generated dubbing technology.
