Agra shocker: Autorickshaw driver dragged out of vehicle, doused in petrol and set on fire by ex-live in partner and her husband

In a disturbing incident, an autorickshaw driver was burnt alive in Uttar Pradesh's Agra by his former live-in partner and her new husband after he refused to delete old photos and videos, reports TOI's Mohd Dilshad. According to police, the victim, identified as Chand alias Saddam, was dragged from his vehicle, doused in petrol and set ablaze. He was a resident of Ram Swaroop Colony near Prithvinath Phatak in Agra.

The incident happened when he was coming back home after dropping off passengers when he was intercepted in Dauretha area. Though the incident happened on February 27, it has come to light now.

According to the information available, Chand's ex-live-in partner and her husband allegedly dragged him out of his autorickshaw near Bilasganj, took him to a secluded spot, poured petrol on him and set him on fire. Locals gathered at the spot, hearing his screams and loud cries and he was immediately rushed to SN Medical College. The victim was shifted to a private hospital after his health worsened, but unfortunately, he died on Wednesday night.


Family members alleged that the woman, who had been living with Chand for nearly two years following her husband’s death, recently married her brother-in-law, 33-year-old Allee Ahmed. They claimed she had been pressuring Chand to delete old photos and videos of their time together, the TOI report said.

On Thursday, relatives placed Chand’s body on the road at Prithvinath Phatak, blocking traffic for nearly an hour to demand action against the accused. The protest was called off only after police assured strict action against the alleged perpetrators.

A case against the woman, Shabnam, and her husband has already been registered under BNS Section 124 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by use of acid, etc.). A police team has been tasked with making arrests. Additional BNS sections will be added to the FIR after the postmortem report, according to authorities. ACP (Lohamandi) Gaurav Singh stated that further legal action will proceed based on available evidence, including CCTV footage.
