Sarfaraz Khan, son of late Bollywood actor Kader Khan has only done 11 films in his almost 30-year-old career. Sarfaraz began his film career in 1993 with Shatranj, which stars Mithun Chakraborty and Jackie Shroff. Due to the film's failure, he did not find any success until he was cast in the Salman Khan film Tere Naam in 2003.

As Salman Khan's best friend, Sarfaraz received recognition for his performance in Tere Naam. In addition to the film becoming a big hit, his performance received widespread acclaim. He was later seen as Salman's friend in Wanted. After this, he did not receive any meaningful roles and he last appeared in Ramaiya Vastavaiya in 2013.
