A bizarre on-field moment during the IPL 2026 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings has gone viral, sparking widespread discussion among fans after what many described as a “black magic” act in the stands coincided with a crucial wicket.

During the match, a peculiar incident—dubbed “black magic” by viewers—was caught on camera. A Sunrisers Hyderabad supporter holding a lemon appeared to perform a ritual that many believe coincided with a key breakthrough for his team.

The moment unfolded in the 17th over of CSK’s innings, with Shivam Dube at the crease and Chennai at 154/7 while chasing 194. With Dube known for turning games around, SRH were desperate to get him out.

In a video that has since gone viral, the fan is seen taking a lemon, rotating it several times while muttering something, and then gesturing towards Dube, who was getting ready to face a delivery from Sakib Hussain. Moments after the gesture, Dube was bowled—sending the stadium into a frenzy.

How Dube got dismissed:

Sakib delivered a fast, full ball targeting middle stump, and Dube completely missed it. The ball skidded quickly off the pitch, rushing him as he attempted a flick. He was late on the shot, and it may have brushed his pad before crashing into the stumps. With minimal foot movement and seemingly expecting a slower delivery, Dube was left disappointed as he walked back after scoring 21 off 16 balls.

Sunrisers Hyderabad went on to defeat Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs, climbing to fourth place on the points table and snapping CSK’s two-match winning streak.

Did CSK really file a complaint?

A photoshopped letter claiming that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lodged a formal complaint with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), alleging black magic and voodoo rituals by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) fans, has been debunked as fake, according to media report.

The meme circulated widely on social media following the IPL 2026 clash on April 18 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, where SRH registered a 10-run win over CSK.
