Fire breaks out around 8 AM, smoke seen from distance

According to officials, the incident occurred around 8 a.m. when flames suddenly ignited inside a flat on the 12th floor.

Within minutes, the fire intensified and began spreading rapidly inside the apartment. Residents reported seeing thick plumes of black smoke out of windows, with dense smoke visible from several kilometres away.

Multiple fire tenders were deployed to the site, and firefighters launched a large-scale operation to contain the blaze and stop it from spreading to neighbouring flats.

Police teams helped manage crowds and assisted in evacuation efforts, while rescue personnel ensured that residents from nearby apartments were moved to safer areas as a precautionary measure.

Operation continues to control blaze

Firefighting teams worked through multiple access points inside the building to bring the flames under control. Authorities cordoned off the affected zone to support emergency operations and ensure safety of residents.

Despite the intensity of the fire, officials confirmed that evacuation was carried out efficiently and the situation was contained without escalation to other towers.

No casualties reported, but investigation underway

Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported till the filing of this report. Officials said all residents of the affected section were safely evacuated, while medical teams were kept on standby at the site in case of emergencies.

The exact cause of the fire is still unknown. Fire department officials said a detailed investigation will be conducted once the situation is fully brought under control.

Possible electrical fault under scanner

Preliminary assessments suggest that the cause could be linked to an electrical fault or other technical issue, though authorities have not confirmed anything officially yet.

Investigators are expected to examine wiring systems, appliances, and safety compliance measures inside the affected apartment as part of the probe.

NCR on alert after recent fire tragedies

The incident comes close on the heels of the devastating Malviya Nagar restaurant fire in Delhi, where multiple casualties were reported after a massive blaze trapped people inside a building.

The back-to-back incidents have once again raised concerns about fire safety preparedness in densely populated urban areas across Delhi-NCR, especially in high-rise residential and commercial structures.
