On the cricket front, the opening duo of Rahmanullah Gurbaz (65) and Ibrahim Zadran (87), along with Rahmat Shah (77*) at No. 3, played pivotal roles with the bat, propelling Afghanistan to a historic victory.

Notably, Afghanistan has now notched wins against two cricketing giants - former world champions Pakistan and reigning champions England. This victory has elevated Afghanistan to the sixth position on the World Cup points table, while Pakistan remains in the fifth position with four points and a net run rate of -0.400.
