The minister, while interacting with the media on Monday, revealed a series of pilot projects aimed at easing traffic congestion and promoting green mobility.
Aerial pods for Bengaluru and Delhi
Gadkari said that the government is studying the possibility of an aerial pod transport system in Bengaluru, similar to a proposed route between Dhaula Kuan and Manesar in the National Capital Region."We want to start a pod system in the air from Dhaula Kuan to Manesar because there is a lot of traffic on this road. We are doing the same study in Bengaluru,’’ the minister said.
Double-decker ropeways in the mountains
Gadkari further said that the government plans on introducing double-decker ropeways connecting mountains across valleys in Uttarakhand and Kashmir, aiming to improve connectivity in difficult terrains.Flash-charging electric buses in Nagpur
The minister also talked about innovations in electric mobility, saying a new 135-seater electric bus has been launched in Nagpur. "The bus, built with executive-class features like individual TVs, can run at a top speed of 120 kmph. It will stop every 40 km for just 30 seconds, during which time it will flash-charge and allow passengers to board or exit," Gadkari said. The electric bus system is expected to be rolled out on longer intercity routes, including Delhi to Jaipur, Delhi to Dehradun, and Bengaluru to Chennai, offering faster and cleaner travel options for commuters, Gadkari said.
