Adipurush release date to be postponed from Sankranti 2023?

There is a growing buzz on social media that the release of the movie "Adipurush" could be pushed forward from its earlier Sankranti 2023 date.

This follows a few media reports which said a Sankranti release could clash with Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya and NBK's Veera Simha Reddy. However, an official confirmation is awaited.

The film, featuring actors Prabhas and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles, was initially scheduled to hit the theatres on January 12, 2023.


"Adipurush" is said to be an adaptation of the epic Ramayana and features actor Prabhas in the lead role.

As per some reports, "Adipurush" will now hit the theatres in the summer of 2023. The exact date of its release is still under wraps. Makers of the film may release an official statement in this regard this week.

Sankranthi has been a favourite release date for moviemakers for a long. Recently, it was announced that "Varisu," featuring Vijay, will also hit the big screens on this Sankranthi. Other big projects for Sankranthi 2023 include "Mega 154," "Veere Simha Reddy," and Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja's untitled movie.

Earlier, the teaser of "Adipurush" was released on October 2. However, many were disappointed with the VFX used in the film. Some fans stated that it looked like an animated film. Filmmaker Om Raut also reacted to the trolling received by the film's teaser. The director had said that he was "disheartened" with the response the teaser had received. Moreover, the look and dresses of the characters in the film's teaser also faced criticism.
