Shome, known for her role in "Tribhuvan Mishra CA Topper," criticized the airline for lack of accountability and solutions. She shared her frustrations on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"AI 129. @airindia flight to Heathrow. Delayed as of now from 5.15 am to 10am. No message, no calls from the airlines to notify passengers of the delay. Upon contacting AI, all they can say is sorry..." Shome posted.
In response to the complaint, Air India stated that they had sent a notification about the delay to the registered phone number and regretted the inconvenience caused. They mentioned that their staff was actively working to minimize passenger inconvenience.
After check-in, Shome discovered the flight was further delayed, resulting in a total delay of 8.5 hours. The airline assured that ground staff communicated with passengers to provide updates and assistance.
In addition, Shome tagged Air India and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) India in another post, criticizing the airline for not providing hotel accommodations or alternative flight options, with the luggage already checked in. She urged DGCA to address the compensation for the inconvenience caused.
"@DGCAIndia what is the way forward? How are we being compensated for this delay? Awaiting your response. Sincerely, A concerned and exhausted citizen," Shome wrote.
