Actress Shubhangi Atre separates from husband after 19 years of marriage

Popular television actress Shubhangi Atre, who is widely recognized for her role in the popular sitcom "Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai," has recently confirmed that she has separated from her husband, Piyush Poorey.

In 2003, Shubhangi Atre and Piyush Poorey exchanged marital vows in Indore, and the couple had a daughter named Ashi. After the marriage, the couple relocated to Mumbai, which gave a kick start to Shubhangi’s acting aspirations, and her husband Piyush, who is involved in digital marketing, has been extremely supportive of her career endeavours.

However, after 19 years of marriage, they are separated from each other. Speaking to the media, Shubhangi revealed that, despite their best efforts, they were unable to reconcile their disagreements and ended their marriage.


She stated that they have been living separately for more than a year and that she understands that mutual respect, trust, companionship, and friendship are necessary for a strong marriage. She added that after things didn't work out, they gave each other space so that they could concentrate on their own personal and professional lives.

Shubhangi acknowledged that choosing this path was not simple. She said that while her family is usually her top concern, there are occasions when the bonds are irreparably damaged. She added that in a long-term relationship, separation also has an impact, both mentally and emotionally, but it is unavoidable.

Despite this, she reaffirmed that they will continue to get along because of their 18-year-old daughter. She allows Ashi to see Piyush on Sundays since she doesn't want her daughter to be negatively impacted. She added that her daughter deserves to feel loved by both parents.
