Actress Riya Kumari shot dead in highway robbery incident; cops suspect foul play

Popular regional actress from Jharkhand, Riya Kumari was killed brutally on Wednesday in a robbery incident when she was traveling to Kolkata from Ranchi. The actress was with her husband and three-year-old daughter when she was shot dead at point-blank by the miscreants. Police are investigating the matter keenly. They are trying to find CCTV footage of the mishap to bring out the truth quickly. Reportedly, the cops are considering the matter from all aspects including murder.

Prakash Kumar, Riya’s husband elaborated on the entire incident to the investigation team. He informed the cops that the mishap took place around 6 AM on Wednesday on NH16 in Howrah district, West Bengal. The unknown miscreants attacked the actress when they stopped the vehicle near the Mahishrekha bridge to render nature’s call. He stated that three men with weaponry hurled toward their vehicle as soon as they halted on the bridge. They attacked Riya with the intention of robbery. Seeing them, Riya jolted out of the vehicle to protect herself. However, her resistance triggered the attackers and they shot her dead on spot.

However the cops are dissatisfied with Prakash Kumar’s narrative of the robbery incident. They fired various counter-questions at Prakash such as how he didn’t know that they were being followed and how the robbers had the exact idea about their stoppage at the bridge. Interestingly, the place where Prakash stopped his car was not a designated parking place. These unanswered questions have intensified the claims of foul play in Riya Kumar’s murder mystery.
