Actor Prakash Raj's tweet on Chandrayaan-3 has created a controversy.

The noted actor tweeted a cartoon yesterday showing a man in a shirt and lungi pouring tea, with a caption: "BREAKING NEWS:-First picture coming from the Moon by #VikramLander Wowww"

The tweet immediately created a storm on social media network X (formerly Twitter), with many slamming the actor for mocking ISRO. Some have even highlighted the erring similarities between the cartoon and former ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) chief K Sivan.

"It's hardwork and dedication of our scientist that we have progressed in space research and it's the need of hour that we respect our scientist," said one Twitter user.

Another said: "Prakash ji, this Chandryan mission is from ISRO not BJP. If it gets succeed, it’s for India not for any party. Why you want this mission to fail? BJP is just a ruling party. It will go one day. But, ISRO will remain for years and will make us proud. In search of truth, you’re forgetting basic nationalism. India’s failure shouldn’t be a victory. Keep ISRO aside from this political hate."

However, some netizens also saw the light side of the tweet.

"No offence but is it just me who took it as a moon gravity joke or people are taking this tweet way too seriously?," commented one.

Chandrayaan-3, launched on July 14, is a follow-on mission to Chandrayaan-2 to demonstrate end-to-end capability in safe landing and roving on the lunar surface.

The ISRO said on Sunday that the Lander Module with rover in its belly is expected to touch down on the surface of the Moon around 6.04 PM on August 23.
