Actor Dipika Chikhlia opens up about facing criticism for her choice of clothes in videos. This is what she said

Actor Dipika Chikhlia, who played the role of Sita in the epic show Ramayan, has opened up on being trolled for her choice of clothes in music videos.

In a recent interview to Aaj Tak, Dipika Chikhlia, said that people continue to see her as Sita Mata from Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan, which aired in the late 80s.

Chikhlia said that she has been facing criticism from fans for the choice of her clothes in her reels and music videos on Instagram. The actor said that it is due to her on-screen image. Dipika said that people see her as Sita Mata only.




On Instagram, Dipika is quite active and keeps posting many reels on trending songs. The actor is also seen in elegant western wear many times. Not just this, she also gave a glimpse of her birthday celebrations with her family at a resort to fans recently.

Chikhlia said that her followers are not able to see her as anything but Sita Mata and ask her not to make such videos or wear trendy clothes.

Dipika told the media outlet that she tries to not hurt her fans and their sentiments as she is a public figure. She has been making reels on old classic songs so that the same dignity (from yesteryears) is maintained. But she still gets messages where people say that ‘we see you as Sita Mata, please do not make such reels. Please do not wear such clothes’.

She knows that her image and face are known to play Goddess Sita. This is why she avoids anything revealing. She tries to keep the videos simple and good for her fans, the actor added.

Dipika also wants her fans to understand that she has got a life of her own and respect her 'choice' and 'values'.
