Actor Chandan K Anand recalls dodging casting couch incident during his career

Actor Chandan K Anand, known for his roles in several TV shows, films, and OTT shows, including Netflix's Class and Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, recently opened up about his experience with casting couch in a new interview. The actor, who has been in the industry for almost two decades, revealed how it was called 'compromise' earlier.

Chandan shared how he managed to dodge a casting couch incident during his career. He recalled how a coordinator had asked him to share his pictures and said he had to compromise. However, the actor managed to evade the situation by running away from the coordinator's office.

When asked about his opinions regarding the casting couch, Chandan said, "Compromise bolte the pehle (it was previously known as compromise), I have only ever met one coordinator in my entire career. You are aware that you will have to make a compromise, he continued, "you know na compromise karna padta hai?" Maine kaha, "Yeh kya hota hai" (I asked him what he meant). Chandan also shared his struggles before joining the show business, stating that he came to Mumbai in 2004 with only ₹2000 in hand and dreams in his heart. He stayed with eight boys in a room and his college senior, who was working as a scheduler in a Doordarshan show for UTV. The actor said that he feels blessed today to have his own home in Mumbai.

The Netflix series Class, a remake of the Spanish hit series Elite, was Chandan's latest work. Directed by Ashim Ahluwalia, the series premiered on February 2.
