Actor Aamir Khan emotionally recalls his family's tough financial situation
Aamir Khan sobbed as he recalled his family's days of financial insecurity when his father took out debts for films that could not be repaid.

In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Aamir remembered his family's major slump when he was about ten years old. His father had taken out interest-bearing debts for a film that was never completed. Aamir became upset thinking about the time and left the interview for a few moments to calm down.
When he returned, he asked the interviewer not worry about his emotional reaction as it was quite a regular occurrence for him. He then revealed that the thing that would bother them the most in those days was seeing Abba Jaan (his father). Aamir said that his father was a straightforward individual, but he lacked the foresight to not take out such a large loan.
Aamir stated that because cinema tickets were sold in black, producers were frequently not paid. He said that while a handful of his father's films fared well, they were never wealthy.
Aamir said that witnessing his father in trouble was especially terrible, mainly because they used to get calls from moneylenders. They'd hear him arguing on the phone with people, telling them, 'What do I do? My film is stuck?'
