In a recent development, one of the prime accused individuals in the largest gold robbery case in the nation met a tragic end in Hajipur, Vaishali district of Bihar. The deceased has been identified as Yusuf Kaushal, also known as Raj Honey, and he was the son of Miyaz Kaushal. Raj Honey was a central figure in the infamous 55-kilogram gold heist at Muthoot Finance in Hajipur back in 2019.

Raj Honey, the second accused in the 2019 gold robbery case was shot dead during an incident that unfolded on Sunday night. This case had already seen violence, as on January 3, 2020, another accused named Manish Kumar was fatally shot while in custody at Hajipur jail.

The tragic incident took place near RN College in Pokhari, Hajipur. Raj Honey found himself in the crosshairs of four assailants riding on two motorcycles. In a swift and violent attack, they ambushed him from behind, firing multiple shots. Local residents, witnessing the horrifying scene, promptly rushed him to the hospital. However, medical professionals declared him dead upon arrival, reported TOI.

The authorities have obtained crucial CCTV footage of the incident, providing essential evidence in their ongoing investigation. The footage captures the moment when Raj Honey, unaware of the impending danger, was targeted by the attackers. Despite making an attempt to escape, he was overpowered and tragically shot by the assailants.

Raj Honey's criminal background was well-documented, and he had been released from jail only around four to five months prior to this unfortunate incident. His involvement in the Muthoot Finance gold robbery case of 2019 had made him a person of interest for the authorities.

The local law enforcement, led by Hajipur SDPO Omprakash, has been working on identifying the criminals responsible for this heinous act. Raids and investigations are underway, with the goal of bringing those behind this murder to justice.
