AAI Junior Executive Recruitment: Notification issued; key points to note

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued a new notification that the statutory body, which is regulated by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, is accepting applications for 400 posts listed under Junior Executive or Air Traffic Control. Apart from science graduates, AAI is also inviting engineering degree holders to apply for these vacancies.

Those who wish to apply will be required to visit https://www.aai.aero/, the official website of Airports Authority of India. July 14 is the last date to fill up the form.

How candidates perform in the online examination will play an important role in the process of shortlisting. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to appear for a voice test and submit to a document verification process. After taking into consideration all this and the result of the online exam, a (provisional) merit list will be issued.


Candidates must also meet certain other eligibility criteria required for the post. Apart from conducting a background check on the candidates, the authorities will also check whether they are under the influence of any psychoactive substance.

Those who plan to apply for the Junior Executive posts are required to have completed a three-year-long Bachelor’s Degree in Science (B.Sc) with subjects like Mathematics and Physics. Those who have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering can also apply for these posts. The candidates are expected to have a good command of both spoken and written English.

Those who are 27 years of age or older are not eligible to apply. The upper age limit, however, can be extended by 10 years for PWD candidates. Those from SC/ST category will be given a 5-year age relaxation. For OBC candidates, the age relaxation is up to 3 years.
