A house-size, 58-foot asteroid approaching earth at 28119 kmph, says NASA
NASA has reported that a giant asteroid called 2023 HU4 is approaching Earth at a speed of 28119 kmph. The asteroid is 58 feet in size and will pass by Earth from a distance of 528,000 km today. In addition, another asteroid named 2023 HK3, which ...

According to the US space agency, the asteroid is about 58-foot, almost like a big house.
As per NASA data, the giant space rock is travelling at a speed of 28119 kmph.
Named 2023 HU4, it will fly by Earth from a distance of 528,000 km today.
According to NASA, another bus-sized asteroid will also zoom past Earth from a distance of 1,630,000 km today. It is named 2023 HK3 and is 28 feet in size.

The dashboard displays the next five Earth approaches to within 4.6 million miles (7.5 million kilometers or 19.5 times the distance to the moon); an object larger than about 150 meters that can approach the Earth to within this distance is termed a potentially hazardous object.
The average distance between Earth and the moon is about 239,000 miles (385,000 kilometers).
Asteroids are actually minor planets which can neither be classified either as a planet or as a comet. These are generally in the direct orbit around the Sun, also known as the inner solar system.
While asteroids can certainly pose a threat to the planet Earth, NASA considers size and proximity when evaluating the risk an asteroid poses. The space agency only considers an object a potential threat when it is larger than around 500 feet and will pass within around 4.6 million miles of Earth.
