A guide on how to use Instagram's new polls feature in DMs

Instagram recently added the “poll” feature to its direct messages. The new feature allows users to create polls to understand public choices and opinions by sending the polls via direct messages on mobile devices. The poll results can be made available in real-time within a group chat.

Here are the steps to create and share polls on Instagram:

• Open the Instagram application on your mobile device.
• Open the group in the DM where you want to send the poll.
• Open the “Stickers” section.
• Select the “Polls” option.
• Enter the question and the options for answers.
• Click on “Create poll” and send.

You can also add polls on videos and photos you share in DMs. Here’s how:

• Open the Instagram application on your mobile device.
• Open the group or individual chat in the DM where you want to send the poll.
• Open the Camera section and capture/choose the video or image.
• Press the Stickers button and select the “Polls” option.
• Enter the Poll question and the answers options, and click “Done.”
• Adjust the size of the poll sticker as per your preference, and click on send.
• Audiences can vote by tapping on the option for a normal poll. The same can’t be done for the polls on photos and videos.
• Instead, the audience can type their choices in the message box on the photos and videos below the poll sticker.
