80-Year-Old lady runs Tata Mumbai Marathon, gets praise on social media
An 80-year-old woman proved that 'age is just a number' after running in the Tata Mumbai Marathon, which returned after a break of two years on January 15.

An 80-year-old lady surprised everyone after she participated in the 18th Tata Mumbai Marathon on Sunday, which returned after a two-year hiatus. The lady, named "Bharti Jitendra Pathak," has inspired many with her cheerful manoeuvre and happy spirit.
Over 55,000 people participated in the iconic Tata Mumbai Marathon. The participants included young people, children, disabled people and even senior citizens.

Mumbaikars woke up early this Sunday for the 16th edition of Tata Mumbai Marathon. The big event saw thousands of participants from almost every walk of life. From politicians to film stars, from sports personalities to army officers, the 42 km dream run was steps ahead of its previous installments.
A record-breaking 46,414 number of people took part in the marathon which started at 5.30 am and ended at 2 pm.
Marathon Ambassador Mary Kom, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his wife and singer Amruta Fadnavis, actor Gulshan Grover and Tina Ambani flagged off the big race.
While Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani completed half the marathon by running for 21 kms, actor and fitness enthusiast Milind Soman ran for the complete stretch. Actor Rahul Bose, Kartik Aaryan and actress Tara Sharma, too, took part in the race.
Participants were flagged off from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and raced till the Bandra-Worli Sea Link and back to complete the race.

Instagram user Dimple Mehta Fernandes shared a video of her maternal grandmother, Nani, running the marathon. In the video, the elderly woman can be seen running on the streets alongside other marathon participants. She ran in her saree and sports shoes, carrying the tricolour flag. She completed 4.2 kilometres in 51 minutes.
"So inspired by the sheer will and grit of my 80-year-old Nani, who ran the TATA Marathon this Sunday," the video captioned. The senior lady also spoke with a news channel and spoke enthusiastically stating that this was her fifth marathon since she enjoys walking every morning to stay fit and healthy. She went on to say that she is proud to be an Indian and wants people to know about her heritage as she runs with the Tiranga.
The Tata Mumbai Marathon is an annual event that takes place on the third Sunday of January.
