The Delhi government has prepared an extensive menu of over 200 items for its official events, including dishes such as golden fried chicken, mutton rogan josh, boti kabab, paneer tikka, dal makhani, gulab jamun, and seasonal fruits. The menu has been compiled by the Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (DTTDC), the agency responsible for organising outdoor catering for government offices, including the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister’s secretariats.

Menu options for official events

The menu includes 33 salads and chaats, 28 soups and shorbas, 30 snacks both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, 25 vegetarian dishes, 21 non-vegetarian dishes, 14 types of dals, 24 varieties of Indian breads, and nine types of raitas. Desserts feature 18 items, reflecting the scale and diversity of catering arrangements. The DTTDC has floated a tender for vendors to provide these services.

Event arrangements and pricing

An official clarified that not all items will be served at every government function; departments can select from the available options. Vendors will receive support at event venues, including space, and are required to provide good-quality napkins, toothpicks, and bone china crockery. Light tea is priced between Rs 80 and Rs 115 per person, vegetarian high tea buffets cost Rs 330-575 per person, and non-vegetarian options range from Rs 385-645.

Purpose of catering services

The official added that catering is a routine practice for government events and operates year-round on a call basis to ensure hospitality services are conducted in an organised manner.
