Aamir Khan has confirmed that the much-awaited sequel to the 2009 blockbuster 3 Idiots is currently in development. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that director Rajkumar Hirani and writer Abhijat Joshi are actively working on the script of 3 Idiots 2. Aamir said he has already heard the story and is impressed with it.

Sequel Set 10 Years After Original Film

“The story has turned out very well. It has the same kind of humor and it is a very unusual story,” Aamir said.

The actor confirmed that he will once again step into the shoes of his iconic character, Phunsukh Wangdu. “I am also waiting to do that. Once again, I will have to step into the shoes of the character Phunsukh Wangdu,” he added.

Aamir expressed confidence in the writing team, saying Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi have conceived and written the story beautifully.
