Delhi Police have intensified their crackdown on dangerous road behavior after two separate incidents of reckless bike stunts went viral this week.

In a bizarre and hazardous maneuver, Puniya is seen pulling alongside moving public transit buses and three-wheeler tempos to manually yank their doors open, causing them to slam or swing wildly while in motion. Following a technical investigation led by Inspector Rajender Kumar, Puniya was traced to his residence in Khajuri Khas and arrested under Sections 125 and 281 of the BNS.

Victory Celebration Gone Wrong
In a separate event on Sunday night, February 15, the atmosphere turned volatile in Old Rajender Nagar following India’s win against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. Around 11:30 PM, Mohit Sharma was spotted performing dangerous wheelies and zigzagging through Bada Bazar Road to celebrate the victory. The reckless riding, performed without a helmet, angered a large crowd of local residents and commuters who had gathered for the celebrations. The situation nearly escalated into mob violence as several individuals attempted to physically assault Sharma before police personnel intervened, forming a protective cordon to escort him to safety.Impounded Vehicles and Strict Charges
Delhi Police have taken a zero-tolerance stance against such "stunt-baazi," emphasizing that road rules cannot be disregarded for social media fame. In both cases, the motorcycles involved have been impounded. Puniya faces charges of endangering life and rash driving, while Sharma has been booked under various sections of the Motor Vehicle Act for reckless riding and safety violations. Authorities have warned that they are actively monitoring social media accounts to identify individuals who record and upload hazardous content on public roads.(With TOI inputs)
