Honda has unveiled the refreshed 2027 Honda Jazz, sold as the Honda Fit in Japan, to mark the hatchback's 25th anniversary. Instead of introducing an all-new generation, the automaker has updated the model with revised features, a sportier RS variant and changes to the lineup while retaining the practicality that has long defined the Jazz.

The update is currently aimed at the Japanese domestic market and reflects Honda's continued focus on compact hatchbacks despite the growing popularity of SUVs.

2027 Honda Jazz price

The refreshed 2027 Honda Jazz is priced between ¥1,806,200 and ¥2,955,700 in Japan, which works out to approximately Rs 10.6 lakh to Rs 17.4 lakh based on current exchange rates. The announced prices are for the Japanese market.

RS variant gets sportier styling

The fourth-generation Jazz retains its familiar design, featuring a large glasshouse, rounded proportions and an emphasis on visibility. While the exterior remains largely unchanged from the previous facelift, Honda has refreshed the lineup with updated trims and equipment.

The Jazz RS receives the most significant visual updates, including revised front and rear bumpers, gloss black exterior accents, newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels and more aggressive styling elements. The variant also features RS-exclusive suspension tuning aimed at improving handling while maintaining everyday usability.

Cabin retains focus on practicality

Honda has continued with the spacious and versatile cabin layout that has been a key strength of the Jazz.

The hatchback is expected to feature a large digital instrument display, a touchscreen infotainment system, the Honda Sensing safety suite and premium interior materials on higher variants.

The model also retains Honda's Magic Seats, which allow multiple seating and cargo configurations, offering flexibility that has become one of the Jazz's defining features.

e:HEV hybrid powertrain continues

The refreshed Jazz continues to be powered by Honda's e:HEV self-charging hybrid system, which remains the preferred powertrain in Japan and Europe.

The hybrid setup combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine, dual electric motors, Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) and an e-CVT transmission. Honda has not announced any major mechanical upgrades, continuing with the existing hybrid powertrain known for fuel efficiency and smooth transitions between electric, hybrid and engine drive modes.

A hatchback with a 25-year legacy

Since its global debut in 2001, the Honda Jazz has built a reputation for practicality, offering segment-leading interior space, excellent visibility, Magic Seats, fuel-efficient naturally aspirated and hybrid powertrains, and easy urban drivability.

Across four generations, the model has remained a benchmark in the compact hatchback segment in Japan, Europe and several Asian markets.

No plans for India return

The Honda Jazz was discontinued in India in 2023 as declining demand for premium hatchbacks and stricter emission norms led Honda Cars India to streamline its portfolio.

Honda has not indicated any plans to bring the Jazz back to the Indian market. The company is currently focusing on models such as the Amaze, Elevate and future electrified vehicles.

However, the Jazz e:HEV could remain a potential option if Honda decides to re-enter India's premium hatchback segment in the future.
