Maruti Suzuki is all set to introduce the 2026 Maruti Brezza facelift on July 24, reportedly with a host of cosmetic updates, feature additions, and a possible new turbo-petrol engine to one of India's best-selling subcompact SUVs. While the overall design will remain familiar, the refreshed Brezza is expected to receive enough upgrades to stay competitive against rivals such as the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Skoda Kylaq.

Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming Maruti Brezza facelift.

2026 Maruti Brezza facelift: Exterior changes

Maruti Suzuki has already teased the updated Brezza, revealing a refreshed front fascia with a slimmer grille, redesigned bumper, and a silver skid plate. The SUV is also expected to get newly designed alloy wheels and LED fog lamps.

The teaser also hints at red styling accents on the grille and side skirts, although it remains unclear whether these will be standard or offered as optional accessories.

At the rear, the SUV is expected to retain its signature squared LED tail lamps and prominent BREZZA badging, with only minor cosmetic revisions.

Bigger touchscreen and premium cabin expected

The cabin is likely to receive one of the biggest upgrades in this facelift. Reports suggest the SUV could feature a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, replacing the current unit. The system may be borrowed from Maruti's latest models.

Top-spec variants are also expected to gain several premium features, including:

  • Ventilated front seats
  • 64-colour ambient lighting
  • Digital instrument cluster
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Premium sound system

Existing features such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, head-up display, auto-dimming IRVM, and push-button start are expected to continue.

Safety features likely to remain strong

Maruti is expected to retain the Brezza's existing safety package, which includes:

  • Six airbags
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  • 360-degree camera
  • Hill Hold Assist
  • Rear parking sensors
  • ISOFIX child seat mounts
  • Rear wiper, washer and defogger

Front parking sensors could also be introduced with the facelift.

New Boosterjet turbo engine could make its debut

One of the biggest talking points surrounding the new Brezza is the possibility of a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine joining the lineup.

According to leaked documents, the new engine could produce 109 bhp and 170 Nm of torque and may initially be paired with a manual gearbox.

The existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine is expected to continue alongside it. The current engine delivers around 101 PS and 137 Nm and is offered with a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. The factory-fitted CNG version is also expected to continue, with reports suggesting an underbody-mounted CNG tank that could improve luggage space.

Expected price and rivals

The 2026 Maruti Brezza facelift is expected to be priced from around Rs 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Once launched, it will compete with:

  • Hyundai Venue
  • Tata Nexon
  • Kia Sonet
  • Kia Syros
  • Mahindra XUV 3XO
  • Skoda Kylaq
  • Maruti Fronx
  • Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor
  • Renault Kiger
  • Nissan Magnite

Future competition is also expected from the upcoming Renault Bridger, its Nissan sibling, and Honda's new subcompact SUV.

Why this facelift matters

It has been nearly four years since the second-generation Brezza was introduced, making this update an important one for Maruti Suzuki. Rather than completely redesigning the SUV, the company has focused on improving equipment levels, adding premium features, and potentially introducing a more powerful turbocharged engine.

If the Boosterjet engine makes it to production and the expected feature upgrades are offered on higher variants, the refreshed Brezza could strengthen its position in India's highly competitive subcompact SUV market.

The official details, variant-wise features, prices and specifications will be revealed when Maruti Suzuki launches the SUV on July 24.
