After Dhoni's departure, the Men in Blue have not won any global ICC event and recently India suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of England in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup.
BCCI has called for a meeting with the players to discuss the dismal outing in the event. The Board is keen to use Captain Cool’s vast and rich experience to give a boost to Team India’s performance.
Dhoni has already worked with Team India during T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE in an interim capacity. According to BCCI, utilising Dhoni will also lessen the workload on head coach Rahul Dravid.
Though, the development has not been confirmed, die-hard fans will be excited to see the inclusion of MS Dhoni into the squad in some capacity.
India are set to play New Zealand in New Zealand in a three-match T20I series under the leadership of Hardik Pandya starting November 18.
