2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Price, specifications, and important details

The much-awaited Jeep Grand Cherokee has been launched in India. As an introductory offer, a single fully-loaded variant is priced at Rs 77.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The pre-booking option is already available, and the SUV can be booked for Rs 50,000.

The production has already started, and deliveries could begin at the end of this month (November 2022).

Exterior and design

When it comes to design, the Cherokee owes its design to its predecessor or the other off-roaders from the company's lineup. It has seven slat grille with an upright front fascia and also features slim LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. Besides its 20-inch wheels , the SUV also has a swept back windshield and a floating roof effect at the D-pillar.

Interior and features
It comes with leather upholstery, which appears premium and modern. The notable attractions in the interior are screens: a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, 10-inch heads-up display, 10.1-inch centre infotainment touchscreen system with Apple car play/ Android Auto and another 10.25-inch display on the passenger side with a privacy filter.

In other regular features, it offers a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, two entertainment screens for the rear passengers, 4G connectivity, a 19-speaker Alpine audio sound system, and a HUD display, among others. Besides, there are other connected features in the SUV, including vehicle monitoring, a smartwatch extension, Alexa voice assistant, remote vehicle management, and 24-hour surveillance.

Safety features
The Jeep Grand Cherokee comes with Jeep’s suite of driver assistance and active safety features, including adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane departure warning and lane-keeping assist, blind spot detection with rear cross-traffic monitoring, and forward-collision prevention with pedestrian and intersection detection.

Powertrain
The SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 270 bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with a Selec-Terrain system with Auto, Sport, Snow, Mud and Sand modes.
