A 13-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed to death by three men in Rordki village, Mansa district, Punjab, following an unverified accusation that he had stolen a pigeon. The incident took place around 220 km from Chandigarh.

The victim, Raja Singh, a Class VII student, went missing on the evening of Saturday. His body was discovered the following day outside the village with multiple injuries caused by sharp-edged weapons, police said.

According to the police complaint filed by Raja’s family, a local resident had accused the boy of stealing a pigeon and had threatened him earlier. Police have registered a case of murder against three villagers identified as Tarlochan Singh, Kala Singh, and Teja Singh, all reported to be pigeon-keepers.

Authorities have launched a search operation to apprehend the accused, who were reportedly absconding at the time of the report.
