Mumbai Weather: Heavy Rain expected, IMD issues Orange Alert
The India Meteorological Department on Tuesday issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, and other regions of the financial capital due to the heavy rainfall in the city.

According to the BMC, a low tide will occur at 8:07 am on Tuesday, dipping to 0.97 metres. It earlier mentioned that a high tide, reaching 3.88 metres, would take place at 2:28 am.

Residents, especially those in low-lying areas prone to flooding, are advised to stay updated with the IMD updates, as heavy rain combined with high tide can quickly lead to waterlogging.

Mumbai Rains: Flight issues warning

Following the change in the weather, various airlines including IndiGo issued a travel advisory for the passengers.

"From July 16 onward, Mumbai is expected to experience consistent monsoon conditions, with cloudy skies and light to moderate rainfall each day. On July 16 and 17, the city will see warm and slightly humid weather, with temperatures ranging between 26 and 32°C. Similar conditions will persist on July 18, although humidity levels may rise slightly. By July 19 and 20, rainfall is expected to intensify, with continuous showers and overcast skies creating a cool and damp atmosphere. Temperatures during this period will remain between 25 and 31°C, offering some respite from the earlier humidity. Residents are advised to plan accordingly and avoid low-lying areas," said IndiGo.

"#TravelUpdate: Due to heavy rainfall and waterlogging in certain parts of Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, and Goa, we anticipate slow moving traffic and congestion on roads leading to the airport. To ensure a seamless travel experience, we request you to plan for additional travel time to reach the airport well in time for your flight.
