The highest rainfall was recorded at Nariman Point (104 mm), followed by A Ward Office (86 mm), Colaba pumping station (83 mm), and Municipal Head Office (80 mm).
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange to red alerts for Mumbai, with forecast of moderate spell of rainfall for coastal Maharashtra including Mumbai during next 3 hours.
Moreover, a high tide is expected at 11.24 am at 4.75 metres and again at 11.09 pm at 4.17 metres, while a low tide is likely at 5.18 pm at 1.63 metres and 5.21 am on Tuesday at 0.04 metres, the BMC said.
The city continues to grapple with waterlogging in several parts following heavy rainfall on Sunday night.
In the western suburbs, Supari Tank and Nariyalwadi Santacruz received the highest rainfall at 25 mm, followed by Khar Danda Pali Hill with 24 mm. HE Ward Office logged 18 mm, HW Ward Office 16 mm, while Vile Parle and Andheri Fire Stations recorded 15 mm and 14 mm, respectively. Chakal Municipal School and Malvani Fire Station measured 14 mm and 12 mm, with Versova Pumping Station at 11 mm.
In the eastern suburbs, Collector Colony in Chembur recorded 13 mm of rainfall, while the Chembur Fire Station and MW Ward Office received 9 mm. In central Mumbai, Britania SWD and Sewri Koliwada logged 12 mm of rainfall, followed by 11 mm at Gokhale Road Municipal School.
Mumbai Rains: Local train services impacted
Suburban services on the Central Railway faced delays of eight to ten minutes due to poor visibility caused by heavy rain. A spokesperson for the Central Railway told PTI, "Suburban trains are delayed by eight to 10 minutes because of reduced speed on account of low visibility due to incessant downpour."Low-lying areas, including King's Circle, Mantralaya, Dadar TT East, Parel TT, Kalachowki, Chinchpokali, and Dadar station, witnessed waterlogging, and vehicular traffic was affected.
