Security risks cited for temporary ban
According to the order, there is a possibility that terrorists and anti-social elements could misuse these aerial objects for attacks, targeting VVIPs and causing threats to public safety. The order further states that such activities could result in damage to public property and law and order disturbances in the Mumbai Police Commissionerate area.Preventive measures in place
The order emphasises the need for preventive measures to curb potential threats. "Certain restrictions need to be put on the activities of such elements in the city to prevent probable sabotages through the flying objects," it states.Exceptions for police surveillance
The restriction will not apply to aerial surveillance conducted by the police or operations specifically permitted by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations).Violation to attract legal action
Individuals violating the order will face legal consequences under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with disobedience to lawful orders issued by public servants, the order added.(Inputs from PTI)
