How a train passenger's selfie helped Mumbai police solve a murder mystery
A thief's photo on a passenger's phone in Maharashtra's Kalyan has solved the mystery of a man's death. The thief, identified as Akash Jadhav, attempted to snatch a passenger's phone on a moving train, which led to the fatal fall of Prabhas Bhange...

The passenger, Zahid Zaidi, managed to capture the face of the thief on his phone as he tried to grab it. Seeking assistance, Mr. Zaidi shared the video on social media, leading to the attention of the Kalyan Railway Police who promptly made an arrest.
Railway police officer Pandharinath Kande stated, "On Tuesday, we arrested a suspect who had prior cases registered against him in Thane. We recovered a second mobile phone from him." Further investigation revealed that the phone belonged to Prabhas Bhange, a Pune resident who tragically lost his life after falling from a train at Vitthalwadi railway station.
The shocking truth behind Mr. Bhange's demise came to light during questioning of Jadhav. According to the police, Jadhav had stolen Mr. Bhange's phone from the moving train, prompting Mr. Bhange to attempt to retrieve it, resulting in the fatal fall.
"He was travelling from Kalyan to Pune. At Vitthalwadi station, Jadhav snatched his phone. To get his mobile phone back, Mr. Bhange tried to get down from the train and fell to his death," explained Mr. Kande.
A case has been registered against the accused as the investigation continues to unfold.
