Xi and Trump begin phone call, says Chinese state media

Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump held a scheduled phone call on Friday to discuss trade ties and the future of TikTok, state broadcaster CCTV and the Xinhua news agency reported.

China's Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump began a planned phone call on Friday, state media in Beijing reported, during which they were to discuss trade and the fate of TikTok.

"Chinese President Xi Jinping spoke by telephone with US President Donald Trump," state broadcaster CCTV and the Xinhua news agency said.
