'With communism, everything turns to sh*t': Trump campaigns in Georgia amid GOP turnout fears

President Donald Trump campaigned for Republican candidates in Georgia on Wednesday (July 22), urging supporters to turn out to vote and offering his endorsement to several contenders for statewide office and Congress ahead of upcoming elections. At a rally in Marietta, Trump endorsed Georgia Attorney General candidate Brian Strickland, lieutenant governor candidate Gregg Dolezal, secretary of state candidate Tim Fleming and congressional candidate Houston Gaines. He also praised Republican Representative Mike Collins, saying he had remained in Washington for an important vote because the party's House majority was "razor thin." The president, speaking at Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia, repeated Republicans’ overarching message ahead of the 2026 November elections, namely that the GOP is running on common sense while Democrats, especially socialists, are pushing communism.
