Trump-Xi tango: Elon Musk, Jensen Huang join China trip as Washington pushes Beijing to ‘open up’ more
U.S. President Donald Trump said late on Tuesday (May 12) he will ask Chinese President Xi Jinping to “open up” China during his summit with the leader, as CEOs from several major U.S. companies accompany him on the visit. Trump made the comment in a social media post while also pushing back on media reports about the guest list for the trip, saying Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang had in fact been invited. “CNBC incorrectly reported that the Great Jensen Huang, of Nvidia, was not invited … In actuality, Jensen is currently on Air Force One,” Trump wrote, adding that he looked forward to meeting Xi “in a matter of hours” and would make opening China his “very first request.”
