US Elections: Why Jennifer Lawrence's 2024 election endorsement has everyone talking

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence officially endorsed Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris for the upcoming November election in the United States. In an interview with People, Lawrence, a long-time advocate for abortion rights, emphasised the importance of the election, stating that "abortion is literally on the ballot."

At 34, the Silver Linings Playbook star revealed her involvement in producing two documentaries focused on women's rights. One documentary addresses the lives of women under Taliban rule in Afghanistan, while the other explores the Zurawski v. State of Texas case, where abortion rights activists took legal action against Texas in 2023.

In her interview, Lawrence expressed her confidence in Harris, saying, "I'm voting for Kamala Harris because I think she's an amazing candidate, and I know that she will do whatever she can to protect reproductive rights." She stressed the urgency of preventing anyone from entering the White House who might ban abortion.


In addition to her political endorsement, Lawrence also shared her views on feminism in a recent Instagram post. She posted a photo of herself wearing a t-shirt that read, "We should all be feminists," and captioned it, "Feminism is about equality, empowerment, and breaking down barriers. Together, we stand for a world where everyone can thrive, regardless of gender."
