China has firmly denied US President Donald Trump’s claims that it is secretly conducting nuclear tests, reaffirming its adherence to the decades-long moratorium on nuclear detonations. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated that Beijing’s nuclear policy is rooted in peaceful development, ‘no first use,’ and self-defence. She urged Washington to uphold global disarmament commitments after Trump called for the US to resume testing amid rising tensions with Russia and North Korea.
