'We don’t want to be owned by US': Greenland FM says cooperation with America is based on interest

Denmark and Greenland's foreign ministers said they had a "frank but also constructive discussion" with U.S. officials regarding Greenland on Wednesday (January 14). "We had what I will describe as a frank but also constructive discussion, said Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen. "The discussions focused on how to ensure the long term security in Greenland, and here our perspectives continue to differ, I must say." Greenland's Foreign Minister Vivian Motzfeldt said that she wanted to strengthen cooperation with the United States but that Greenland did not want to be owned by the U.S.
