Watch: Hulk Hogan calls Trump a 'hero,' rips shirt to reveal 'Trump-Vance' tank top at RNC

Famed US professional wrestling star Hulk Hogan endorsed Donald Trump for president on Thursday, making a dramatic entrance at the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee. In his signature style, Hogan ripped off his shirt to reveal another underneath bearing the Republican candidate's name.

Hogan, an iconic figure from the 1980s whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea, spoke passionately on stage ahead of Trump’s closing speech on the fourth day of the event. "With our leader up there, my hero, that gladiator, we're gonna bring America back together," he declared.

Drawing a comparison to his wrestling days, Hogan likened Trump and his vice-presidential running mate J.D. Vance to the dynamic duo act he once performed with "Macho Man" Randy Savage, known as The Mega Powers. Emulating his wrestling persona, the 70-year-old Hogan tore off his outer T-shirt to reveal a red one underneath, showcasing the Trump-Vance presidential ticket.



As he entered the packed auditorium filled with Republican delegates who had just nominated Trump as the party's presidential candidate, Hogan said he felt like he was in front of "real Americans."

Hogan’s endorsement comes despite a controversial past. Over a decade ago, he was involved in a scandal after an intimate video of him was leaked. Additionally, he faced backlash for his use of racist language, which led to his firing from World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in 2015, where he had won numerous major titles during his career. Hogan has since apologised for his actions.
