Senate Majority Leader John Thune stated "I wouldn't say I'm isolated, no" in response to friction with President Donald Trump over legislative strategy regarding the SAVE America Act and demands to scrap the Senate's August recess. U.S. President Donald Trump said on July 29, he would wait on making any determination for now on whether Republican Senate Majority Leader John Thune was the right person for that role. "Well, we are going to find out and I'll let you know," Trump said when asked by reporters.
