MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday that Greece has not asked Moscow for any financial aid, refuting rumours that visiting premier Alexis Tsipras may seek Russian money for cash-strapped Athens.

"The Greek side has not approached us with any requests for help," Putin said in joint remarks after meeting with Tsipras who is on a two-day visit to the Russian capital.
