WASHINGTON: US Secretary of State John Kerry will meet Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in London on December 4 on the sidelines of a major conference on Afghanistan.

Kerry is travelling to the British Capital to attend the important London Conference on Afghanistan, which is being attended by Sharif, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and chief executive officer Abdullah Abdullah.

"On Thursday, he will travel to London to deliver remarks at the London conference on Afghanistan, a platform for the government of Afghanistan to set out its vision for reform and for the international community to demonstrate enduring support for Afghanistan," the State Department Spokesperson, Jen Psaki, said.

"The Secretary will also hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the meeting, including with President Ghani and Chief Executive Officer Abdullah of Afghanistan, as well as Prime Minister Sharif of Pakistan," Psaki told reporters at her daily news conference.

Kerry's meeting with Prime Minister Sharif comes less than a week after the top American diplomat met the visiting Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif in Washington DC yesterday.
